I’ve been to Sydney once, and was struck by its modern architecture. Modern, organic yet fully integrated with the surrounding neighborhood.

Just a few minutes ago we submitted version 1.0 of the brand new Specify iPhone app to the App Store. That’s right, a fully native iPhone app so you can take your interior design projects with you anywhere: the showroom floor, or your client’s home, for example.

The iPhone app acts as a mobile companion to the Specify web app. It allows you to read spec information and images and use your Specify address book to make calls and send email. The Quick Add feature even lets you use the iPhone camera to add new items to your projects on the go. Now every detail of your design projects can be within reach.

Stay tuned for a full tour of the iPhone app!

What would a supermarket look like if the packaging of every item was simpler? Design consultancy Antrepo produced a series of minimalist package designs. Take a look at everything from Nutella to condoms.

This amazing 1300 square foot house is in Fogo Island, outside of Newfoundland, Canada. The modern design doesn’t take anything away from the gorgeous views.

I love old Chevy pickups. One of my first memories was my dad’s 70′s red Silverado. Some of my favorite cars I can’t buy are tiny cars from Japan known as kei-cars. The two together go better than you think.

This custom shop in Sagamihara takes these Japanese Suzukis and Hondas and makes mini replicas of 70′s-80s Chevys and other American cars. And how they go about making them is clever too.

Beneath the veneer of cheap furniture are materials that are just as cheap. Chris Rucker keeps it honest and makes it beautiful by exposing what’s underneath. ruckercorp.com
